Our Purpose
The purpose of The Basking Ridge Garden Club is to encourage the spirit of gardening, to preserve our trees, birds, and wildflowers, to be environmentally aware, and to contribute to the beautification of our community.
Presidents Letter:
I have always felt that September had more of a “new year” feel than the actual January 1 holiday! The summer flew by and I’m ready for a fresh start for our garden club. At our biennial celebration in June, we honored both outgoing and incoming executive board members. Thank you to our outgoing board members for their contributions over the past two years and welcome to our new board members.
The theme for the coming two years will be “Bloom Together”. All current, prospective and potential members are invited to join our first meeting on September 14th at the Environmental Education Center in Basking Ridge, Our program will be “30 Years Gardening in the Somerset Hills” presented by Janet Ashnault, Rutgers Master Gardener.
I’m looking forward to a year ahead filled with opportunities to fulfil our club mission “ to encourage the spirit of gardening, to preserve our tress, birds and wildflowers, to be environmentally aware and to contribute to the beautification of our community”. From planting and maintaining our many civic gardens and containers to bringing our mission to community residents, YOU- our members have been and continue to be, wonderful ambassadors for our club.
Happy gardening,
Karen
