The members plant and maintain the 9/11 Memorial Garden adjacent to the Basking Ridge Train Station.

9/11 Memorial

Members provide flowers and assist clients in creating seasonal arrangements two times a year at the Atlantic Visiting Nurse Association in Bernards Township.

AADC Garden Therapy

Members are involved with designing and maintaining the Wandering Garden at the Atlantic Visiting Nurse in Bernards Township.

Containers at the various entrances to the Atlantic Visiting Nurse in Bernards Township are planted and maintained with seasonal plantings.

AVN/AADC Containers

Certificates are awarded annually to a property owner & a business within Bernards Township. A committee evaluates the properties, and certificates are awarded based on their recommendations. BRGC members are not eligible.

Civic Beautification Certificates

A holiday tree will be provided and decorated by the members for this event.

Festival of Trees

The member plants and maintains the indoor Cactus Garden at the Bernards Township Library.

Library Cactus Garden

Baskets will be designed and delivered to residents in the Bernards Township area to celebrate May Day.

May Day Baskets

Educate children about the environment through hands-on activities.

Oaks & Acorns Youth Program

Containers along South Finley Avenue, Lyons Bus Stop and Post Office are planted and maintained with seasonal plantings.

Township Containers

Writes a bi-monthly resource, advisory or item of interest note to monthly meeting agenda to raise awareness for participation in environment stewardship.

Enviornment/Horticulture

Boxwood trees are constructed, decorated, and sold for the holidays. For several weeks before Christmas, volunteers get together on a “come when you can - leave when you want” basis to make trees. Members can volunteer in a variety of ways while socializing with fellow Garden Club members.

Each year a tree is planted in a Bernards Township Park. Upon the death of a Club member, the tree(s) is dedicated in their memory.

BRGC Memorial Tree Planting

Arbor Day

This program was started by the GCNJ in 1944 and is nationwide today. It honors our service men and women. Our marker was placed at the town gazebo in 1998. Club members plant annuals and perennials and maintain the area. Wreaths are placed for Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

Blue Star Memorial/ Gazebo

The members plant and maintain a native rock garden at the Environmental Education Center at Lord Stirling Park in Bernards Township.

EEC Rock Gardens

Approximately two dozen wreaths are decorated and delivered to the Bernards Township municipal buildings, schools, and the Allen Street Gazebo.

Holiday Wreaths

The members plant flowers, bulbs, and maintain the Bernards Township Library. They advise and assist with other projects as needed.

Create a garden-themed display at the Bernards Township Library.

Membership invites Ridge Oak seniors to a themed spring garden party.

Garden Therapy - Senior Garden Party

Workshops will be presented to interested members around the art of design.

Design Workshops

Organize tours taken by members who are interested in visiting gardens to gain additional knowledge of plants, flowers, trees, and landscape architecture principles.

Member Day Trip

Gnomes are made using artificial trees, ornaments and old blankets. The base is either a tomato cage or a slice of wood. We sell them for the Holidays
